Planned additions include adjacent medical office buildings and a new cancer center, along with advanced cardiac care, pediatric access, expanded surgical capabilities, and a stronger emphasis on wellness and preventive care.
The property includes the 22-story, 493,000-square-foot tower, a 1,024-space parking garage, and two development outparcels.
To help fund the work, the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board voted to issue up to $425 million in revenue bonds this year. Moody’s also upgraded the hospital district’s rating to Aa3, while Fitch reaffirmed the system’s “AA-” rating in 2025.
The new Innovation Center in Ybor City will serve as a hub where clinicians, technologists and outside partners can evaluate emerging medical technology and translate promising ideas into bedside practice.
