Tampa General Hospital and Mass General Brigham have opened a jointly owned, 10,000-square-foot radiation oncology center at Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens.

The outpatient facility is the first location in the health systems’ planned ambulatory care network along Florida’s East Coast. Tampa General manages daily operations, while Mass General Brigham provides oversight of clinical and technical quality and safety for radiation oncology care.

The center gives the partnership a physical foothold in Palm Beach County. The two systems have outlined a broader network spanning Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties, with plans for services that include primary and specialty care, imaging, oncology and outpatient surgery. Those plans describe the network’s intended scope; they do not mean each service is available at the new center.

For the local medical real estate market, the opening shows how a health system partnership can begin with a specialized outpatient facility and create a platform for future locations. The partners have not announced additional sites or a timetable for them in the sources reviewed.
