The new Innovation Center in Ybor City will serve as a hub where clinicians, technologists and outside partners can evaluate emerging medical technology and translate promising ideas into bedside practice.
The project is designed to significantly expand access to emergency, inpatient, and surgical care, with the hospital expected to begin admitting patients in 2029.
Now among the largest graduate medical education (GME) spaces in South Florida, the 28,250-square-foot facility is five times larger than its predecessor and was designed specifically to support modern medical training.
Under the proposal, a hospital could be developed on a site currently used as surface parking. The facility could include inpatient and outpatient services as well as emergency care.
