Tampa General Hospital Launches First-Ever Comprehensive Kidney Stone Clinic In Palm Beach County

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is making it easier for patients in Palm Beach County to access expert kidney stone care with the launch of the new TGH Kidney Stone Clinic—the first of its kind in the region.

This integrated clinic streamlines what can often be a fragmented and complex process, offering patients a more coordinated and efficient path to treatment.

The clinic brings together three TGH-affiliated practices across Palm Beach County: TGH Advanced Kidney Care (Jupiter and West Palm Beach), TGH Urology Group of Florida (Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, and Lake Worth), and TGH Advanced Urology Care (Jupiter). Each location is staffed by experienced, board-certified nephrologists and urologists, serving both the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast.

Kidney stone treatment typically involves both a nephrologist—who focuses on kidney health and stone prevention—and a urologist, who handles stone removal and related procedures. By uniting these specialties under one umbrella, TGH is simplifying care and offering patients personalized treatment plans based on their medical history and individual risk factors.

“Patients often find it difficult to coordinate care between different specialists,” said Dr. David Amrose of TGH Advanced Kidney Care. “Our new clinic eliminates that burden by providing seamless access to Tampa General’s network of experts.”

Urologist Dr. Murray Goldberg added, “Kidney stones have a high recurrence rate—about half of those who’ve had one will get another within five years. A streamlined care model like this can make a big difference in treatment and prevention.”

Since expanding into the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast in 2020, Tampa General has built a strong foundation of advanced care backed by academic medical expertise—and the new Kidney Stone Clinic is the latest example of that commitment.
