The university broke ground April 15 on Marieb Hall South, a four-story, 158,040-square-foot facility that will become the largest academic building on campus. Construction is set to begin in May, and the building is expected to open for classes in spring 2029.
The proposal reflects a broader trend playing out in growth markets: older healthcare properties are being rethought not just as buildings, but as delivery platforms for community-based care.
More than 3,000 people each year already use AdventHealth Lake Placid’s rehabilitation and sports medicine programs, and that volume is projected to grow significantly over the next several years as the surrounding population expands and ages.
