Building upon the company’s proven track record of delivering dynamic, patient-centric healthcare facilities, Anchor Health Properties (Anchor), a national, full service healthcare real estate development, management, and investment company focused exclusively on medical outpatient buildings and specialty healthcare facilities, has commenced construction on a three story, 62 bed, 100,000 square foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital in South Miami, Florida. Strategically positioned adjacent to Baptist Health South Miami Hospital, the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital at 7160 SW 62 Avenue will offer specialized treatment for individuals with brain or spinal cord injuries, as well as select cardiac, oncology, orthopedic and stroke patients.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to serve the South Miami community alongside Baptist Health South Florida and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, creating a continuity of care to give patients the best chance at full recovery,” shared Richard Paddock, Senior Vice President, Development & Partner with Anchor. “As we continue our growth in South Florida, we look forward to offering a calming inpatient healthcare environment where area residents can regain their strength and function.”

Engaged as the developer for this project by Baptist Health South Florida, the largest not for profit healthcare organization in the region, and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, Anchor will provide comprehensive development and real estate planning expertise to expand inpatient rehabilitation services within the high growth area through this specialty healthcare facility. Lifepoint Rehabilitation will operate the facility in partnership with Baptist Health South Florida.

“Starting construction on this transformative project marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of better healthcare through real estate solutions as we enhance access to inpatient rehabilitation services in the South Florida area,” noted Will Foster, Senior Development Director with Anchor. “This project represents a culmination of efforts by many people and is a testament to how a community can work together to achieve great success. We look forward to bringing the project vision to fruition alongside Baptist Health South Florida, Lifepoint Health, and the full project team.”

The dynamic facility will also include a three story parking garage with capacity for 179 parking spaces to ensure convenient access for patients and visitors as well as future expansion opportunities to open an additional 30 private rooms.

Designed with patient comfort and recovery in mind, the freestanding Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital will feature adaptive units, multidisciplinary therapy gyms equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies, and outdoor spaces designed to further support patients in their transition back to daily living activities.

Slated for completion in late 2025, key members of the project team with extensive healthcare facility experience, include Earl Swensson Associates, a multidisciplinary architectural firm, Robins & Morton, a full service general contractor, and Kimley Horn, a premier civil engineering consultant.
