AdventHealth Buys Osceola County Property

AdventHealth has purchased multiple properties in Osceola County near Poinciana.

The Altamonte Springs-based nonprofit health system on April 16 bought roughly 10 acres from Johnston Springs LLC for $5 million, according to county records. That includes two parcels under an acre without an address and an 8.64-acre property at 4271 Pleasant Hill Road.

The property was part of the Johnston Springs RV Campground & Storage, which still owns close to 50 acres near the purchase property.

AdventHealth had previously filed plans with Osceola County for a multi-phase development of the entire RV campground property. The first phase — only on 8.6 acres — would include a 17,585-square-foot freestanding emergency room, with a future second phase being a four-story, 48,000-square-foot medical office building, per county documents.

AdventHealth spokesman David Breen said more details will be announced in the future on what development will go on the site.

AdventHealth has more than 35,938 employees in Central Florida, making it the region’s second-largest employer, based on.

Founded in 1908, AdventHealth’s Central Florida division includes more than 20 hospitals and ERs in the seven-county area in and around Orlando. Its hospitals and other outpatient services have more than 5.7 million patient visits annually. Nationally, the organization has more than $16 billion in annual operating revenue.
