HCA Florida Aventura and Mercy Hospitals are undergoing significant upgrades.

Aventura recently completed a new cath lab and renovated its gastroenterology suite, with more projects underway, including a 20-bed expansion in behavioral health and a neuro-interventional suite set to open in spring 2025. The hospital also introduced an on-site simulation center for its graduate medical education program. Additionally, HCA Florida Oak Grove Emergency will break ground in 2025, serving North Miami Beach.

Mercy Hospital has invested over $100 million in recent improvements, including a neurointerventional biplane suite and a $45 million upgrade to its women’s and neonatal intensive care unit, reducing patient transfers by over 60%. The hospital is also adding more operating rooms, including one hybrid room for cardiac and vascular services, expected to open in February 2025. Mercy is upgrading elevators and its roof to improve safety and functionality, with roof completion scheduled for March and elevator upgrades by April.

Both hospitals aim to address community needs with ongoing and future projects. Aventura has also earned an A rating from Leapfrog for hospital safety, and Mercy, celebrating its 74th anniversary, continues to uphold its Catholic identity.

HCA Aventura’s broader goal is to serve the Miami-Dade and Broward areas, while HCA Healthcare remains a leader in patient-centered care and medical education with over 300 programs and 79 hospitals across the country.
