Orlando Health Expands In Brevard With Opening Of Jewett Orthopedic Clinic In Melbourne
Orlando Health is expanding its presence on the Space Coast with the opening of a Jewett Orthopedic Institute clinic in Melbourne, providing orthopedic and sports-medicine care.
The clinic is designed as a comprehensive facility for patients dealing with various musculoskeletal injuries or conditions. This move follows Orlando Health’s $439 million acquisition of three hospitals in the Space Coast and Treasure Coast regions from Steward Health Care in October.
The new clinic is located at 5565 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne and employs a staff of 20 people. Two physicians, Dr. Kyle Cox and Dr. Hunter Rafoth, are based at the Melbourne location. Dr. Cox is a fellowship-trained orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon who is an Orlando native and a former UCF soccer player.
The facility is equipped with 15 exam rooms, one casting room, and a rehabilitation space. It also offers on-site imaging technology, including X-ray and MRI, to provide patients with high-quality images and prompt diagnoses. Walk-in orthopedic and sports medicine care is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., allowing patients to receive specialized care without needing an appointment.
In addition to orthopedic care, the clinic houses the Orlando Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center, where board-certified physical therapists collaborate with physicians to create personalized treatment plans. The center features an Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill to aid in faster recovery and includes services such as dry needling, manual therapy, cupping, sound-assisted soft-tissue massage, blood-flow restriction, and kinesiology taping to enhance recovery and reduce pain or swelling.
