“We have over 300 programs, 79 hospitals across the US with 5,100 residents and 300-plus fellows,” said Carolyn Hunter, chief operating officer of the Aventura hospital. “What that means is that HCA Healthcare has made a large investment into the future of medical providers in the US, and so we actually are training the most.”
The new clinic is located at 5565 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne and employs a staff of 20 people.
It is the health care provider’s 13th facility in Northeast Florida.
The hospital has submitted a comprehensive plan amendment to Palm Beach County for an 18.85-acre site it owns, located just west of the existing hospital.
More expansion is planned. At least six new medical facilities have been proposed in Lakeland.
