Nearly 80,000-SF Lakeland Medical Building Breaks Ground
Construction is officially underway on a new state-of-the-art medical office facility in Lakeland. The upcoming Watson Clinic Medical Office Building will span 77,200 square feet and be located on the campus of Orlando Health’s Lakeland Highlands Hospital, currently being developed along the Polk Parkway at Lakeland Highlands Road.
Hoar Construction, serving as the general contractor for the project, anticipates completion by mid-2026. The four-story building will house offices, exam rooms, and advanced imaging labs, offering vital healthcare services in the growing Lakeland region.
The first three floors—totaling approximately 55,702 square feet—will feature medical offices, exam spaces, and a full-service imaging department equipped with MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound technology.
The development is being led by Anchor Health Properties on behalf of Watson Clinic, a trusted and long-established healthcare provider in the community.
This medical office building is being constructed next to the Orlando Health Lakeland Highlands Hospital, a 306-bed inpatient facility scheduled to open in 2026. The hospital will feature:
- Nearly 30 ICU/progressive care rooms
- 16 patient rooms dedicated to a women’s birthing program
- Shell space for a future NICU
- A 48-bed emergency department
- Comprehensive support services including imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, and dining facilities
Together, these projects represent a significant expansion of healthcare access and infrastructure for residents of Lakeland and the surrounding areas.
