Broward Health Expands Access To Care With Strategic Real Estate Investments And New Medical Facilities
Broward Health is making significant strides in enhancing healthcare accessibility across South Florida through strategic investments in real estate.
The health system is set to open two new medical office buildings by 2027, marking its first major construction projects in 25 years. These facilities aim to expand services, accommodate more physicians, and improve patient access in Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach.
The Broward Health Medical Center (rendering above) in Fort Lauderdale will feature an eight-story, 188,000-square-foot building with 129 exam rooms, expandable to 237. Specialties will include cardiovascular services, pulmonology, primary care, gastroenterology, neuroscience, and women’s services. Adjacent to this, a seven-story, 300,000-square-foot parking garage will provide approximately 700 spaces.
Similarly, Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach will offer a six-story, 114,000-square-foot building with 75 exam rooms, expandable to 123. Specialties will encompass cardiovascular services, neuroscience, and orthopedics. Both buildings are designed with flexibility to adapt to future healthcare needs.
The architectural design of these facilities is inspired by the Deerfield Beach lighthouse, symbolizing hope and guidance while reflecting the coastal beauty of South Florida. The development is a collaborative effort between The Beck Group and DMZ Architects, with completion expected in 2027.
These expansions are part of Broward Health’s broader strategy to strengthen its position as a leader in healthcare, enhance access to care, and build a healthier future for the community.
In addition to these developments, Broward Health is addressing community health needs through partnerships and initiatives. The “Better Together” collaboration with Memorial Healthcare System focuses on expanding primary and maternal healthcare services in underserved neighborhoods, utilizing mobile health units and establishing new care locations. This initiative aims to combat health disparities and improve outcomes for residents across Broward County.
Through these strategic investments and partnerships, Broward Health is demonstrating a commitment to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the community and ensuring that high-quality care is accessible to all.
