AdventHealth continues to demonstrate how healthcare systems are thinking beyond hospitals and clinics with its recent acquisition of a large-scale industrial facility in Central Florida.

The health system purchased a 546,859-square-foot industrial building at 5050 Wesley Road in Apopka, Florida, for $84.25 million, pricing the deal at $154 per square foot. The seller was EQT Real Estate, with the transaction brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

Completed in 2023, the facility is part of the four-building Apopka Commerce Center and was designed for high-capacity logistics and distribution.

Importantly, AdventHealth has already been operating a Consolidated Service Center in more than half of the building for nearly two years, making this acquisition a natural next step from tenant to owner.

This acquisition underscores a broader trend in medical real estate: healthcare providers are becoming sophisticated industrial real estate users and owners. As health systems scale, assets that support logistics, distribution, and centralized services are becoming just as strategic as hospitals and medical office buildings.

Expect more healthcare-driven industrial acquisitions as systems prioritize control, efficiency, and long-term operational stability across their portfolios.
