AdventHealth will host a groundbreaking celebration this week for a new medical office building in Ocala.

Hospital and city officials will gather at 1219 S Pine Avenue on Thursday for the groundbreaking of the new medical office building.

Located just south of downtown, the new building will be situated in front of the main AdventHealth Ocala facility, which is located at 1500 SW 1st Avenue. That facility offers inpatient, outpatient, medical, surgical, and emergency services.

The new medical office building will join several other ongoing medical services development projects in Ocala.

The University of Florida Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital, a 150,000-square-foot facility that will offer multiple medical services, is currently under construction in northwest Ocala.

First announced in 2022, that facility will feature 10 emergency department rooms, 10 inpatient rooms, four surgical operating rooms, and a medical imaging center, among other services.

Earlier this year, HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency opened a new, 11,000-square-foot freestanding emergency room in northwest Ocala.

Earlier this month, Rasmussen University announced that it had finished consolidating and renovating its nursing school, which is located in southwest Ocala.
