A New Watson Clinic/Orlando Health Partnership Is Bringing A New Hospital To Lakeland
One of Florida’s emergency rooms is one of the busiest in the country. But a new build hospital could potentially provide some relief.
Lakeland General Hospital reportedly saw 211,801 ER visits last year, making it the nation’s second-busiest.
Watson Clinic is partnering with Orlando Health to bring a $166 million new state-of-the-art hospital to Lakeland. The new hospital will feature seven stories, over 300 inpatient beds, 69 emergency and observation beds, a surgical center, an 18-bed ICU, comprehensive maternity care, and a 12-bed neonatal intensive care unit.
The hospital will be called Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital and is expected to take 15 months to complete, making a completion date of around June of 2026.
Watson Clinic doctors will likely refer patients to the new hospital, as numerous Watson Clinic doctors will be on staff at Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital.
