AdventHealth has completed approximately $365 million in hospital expansion projects at its Winter Garden and Daytona Beach campuses, significantly increasing the health system’s inpatient, surgical and specialty-care capacity across Central Florida. The investments include a $145 million expansion at AdventHealth Winter Garden and a $220 million expansion at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, together adding 144 inpatient beds and substantial new medical space.

At AdventHealth Winter Garden, the health system expanded its existing patient tower by approximately 105,000 square feet, adding three floors and bringing the building to seven stories. The project added 80 inpatient beds, increasing the hospital’s licensed capacity to 176 beds, while also introducing expanded women’s health services and additional operating rooms.

The Winter Garden campus also recently added a three-story, approximately 60,000-square-foot AdventHealth Cancer Institute. The facility, which began seeing patients in July, provides medical and radiation oncology, immunotherapy, genetics-informed treatments and other cancer services. The cancer center represented a separate investment of approximately $43.2 million.

Women’s healthcare is another major component of the Winter Garden expansion. The hospital opened new labor and delivery services in August, bringing maternity care closer to families in West Orange and South Lake counties. More than 6,000 babies are born annually to families in those areas, according to state data cited by AdventHealth, while many of those deliveries historically occurred outside the immediate community.

Meanwhile, AdventHealth Daytona Beach completed a $220 million expansion that added more than 240,000 square feet to the hospital. The project increased inpatient capacity from 362 to 466 beds and expanded the number of surgical suites from 18 to 22.

The Daytona Beach project included vertical additions to two existing patient towers along with expanded intensive and progressive care capacity. New and expanded clinical areas include a dedicated neurological intensive care unit, additional cardiovascular intensive care space, an enlarged pharmacy and laboratory, expanded sterile processing operations and additional CT and MRI imaging capabilities.

Combined, the two projects illustrate the continued expansion of large healthcare campuses in fast-growing Central Florida markets. Rather than relying solely on new hospitals, AdventHealth is adding density and specialized services to established medical campuses, increasing the amount and intensity of healthcare real estate already serving growing population centers in Orange and Volusia counties.
