Baptist Health has broken ground on the new Al and Jane Nahmad Women’s Cancer Center at Baptist Health Baptist Hospital.
Named in honor of long-time benefactors Al and Jane Nahmad, this center will significantly advance the mission of the Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The 155,000-square-foot facility will be located in the new Keeley Pavilion and aims to provide comprehensive cancer care for women, innovative research, and an exceptional patient experience. As the first center of its kind in the region, it reflects a commitment to meet the needs of women, who currently make up 65 percent of Miami Cancer Institute’s patients.
The center will enable the Institute to expand its clinical teams, conduct more research trials, and utilize cutting-edge cancer-fighting technology, enhancing care for patients across Florida and from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Baptist Health has also recently formed a clinical and academic partnership with Florida International University, which will enhance its residency program and move Baptist Hospital toward becoming a statutory teaching hospital.
